A poet, a dreamer, a consummate performer: Lelan James is a singer/ songwriter who embodies the soul of the American working class musician.

Bringing a well-crafted brand of alt-country and indie folk to stages across the country, Lelan James believes in the power of the bar room ballad and the poignancy of a revelation whispered over an acoustic guitar. Despite the recency of his debut record, Lelan James is no stranger to the stage; he has honed his craft as a serious gigging musician over the last 15 years, playing for artists such as Saint Slumber, Evan Blackerby, King Leer, Kyle Caudle, and more. Cutting his teeth in New York City before moving to the American South, he is just as comfortable on theater stages as he is in clubs and bars, holding court with crowds of all shapes, sizes, and creeds.

Lelan James’ debut record, “The Carolina EP,” is as much a musical thesis as it is an introduction to the artist. Blending the alternative rock sounds of New York City bars with the acoustic folk of Appalachia, the three song EP is a flag proudly planted in the Greensboro music scene announcing the arrival of a singer/ songwriter with a singular story to tell.

The Carolina EP is out now.
